Browser or workspace unavailable

Learn what to check when Joule browser or workspace access is unavailable, where to find Diagnostics, and when to contact support.

Last verified 2 days ago

Joule works inside a workspace that can include chat, files, outputs, and browser sessions. Sometimes the browser preview or workspace panel may not appear right away, may need to reload, or may show that a file preview is unavailable.

Use this article when you expected to see Joule's browser, workspace files, or output previews and the app does not show them yet.

Start with the current chat

Open the Joule chat where the work happened and wait for the conversation to finish loading. If the chat is still loading, give it a moment before you retry the same request or start a new chat.

Check the session header first:

  • Workspace opens the workspace panel for files and previews.
  • Outputs opens files or deliverables Joule surfaced from the session.
  • Diagnostics gives support and recovery context when the session or workspace needs help.

If the browser preview is unavailable

Browser sessions are only useful when the task needs a live page or visual web flow. If you expected a browser but do not see one, check whether the latest prompt actually asked Joule to open or inspect a page.

If Joule did use a browser, try these checks:

  • Open the same chat again from Chats.
  • Look for a visible Live browser, browser preview, or browser-related action in the session.
  • Give the page a moment to load before judging the preview.
  • Check whether the site may require sign-in, block automation, load slowly, or show different content based on region or cookies.
  • Ask Joule to continue with a simpler browser step, such as opening one public URL and summarizing what is visible.

Do not ask Joule to enter passwords, payment details, private customer data, or other sensitive information unless you intentionally want to work inside a trusted account flow and understand the risk.

If the workspace or files are unavailable

Open Workspace from the chat header. If Joule created outputs, also open Outputs and review any file cards in the transcript.

If a preview is unavailable, try the safer options before rerunning the whole task:

  • Reopen the chat and select the file again.
  • Use Download when the original file is available and the preview cannot render.
  • Ask Joule to summarize what it already created before asking it to regenerate the work.
  • If a file moved, changed, or is still preparing, wait briefly and open it again.
  • If the file type is not previewable in the workspace, download the original and view it in the right app.

Avoid sending the same broad prompt repeatedly while a session may still be settling. That can create duplicate outputs and make it harder to know which file is current.

Use Diagnostics

Open Diagnostics when the browser, workspace, or file preview still does not recover. Diagnostics can help support understand the specific chat and workspace state, and it may show recovery context for the session.

Use Copy details only for support messages or internal troubleshooting. Do not add passwords, private tokens, billing details, customer data, or unrelated sensitive information to the support message.

Contact support

Contact support when:

  • The same chat will not reopen.
  • The browser preview stays unavailable after you reopen the chat.
  • Workspace files or outputs are missing after the session finishes.
  • A file cannot be previewed or downloaded.
  • Diagnostics shows a workspace issue you cannot resolve.

Include the chat title, project name, approximate time, what you asked Joule to do, what you expected, what you saw instead, and any Diagnostics details support requested.

Where to go next

For browser basics, read Use browser sessions. If the whole session is stuck, read Failed or stuck Joule session. If a file or output is missing, read Missing output or workspace file. For reviewing saved work, read Review and edit outputs.
