Review and edit outputs

Learn how to open, review, revise, save, and download files that Joule creates in the workspace.

Last verified 2 days ago

Joule creates finished work inside the session workspace. Depending on the task, that work might be a Markdown file, document, spreadsheet, presentation, image, audio file, video, report, archive, or another structured file.

Use this article when Joule has created something and you want to inspect it, make a quick edit, ask for a revision, or download it before using it elsewhere.

Where outputs appear

Joule can surface finished work directly in the conversation as an output card. The card gives you a clear file name and quick actions such as Open and Download.

Output cards make finished work easy to open in the workspace or download.

You can also use Outputs near the top of the session to review work from the current chat, especially when Joule has created several files. Use Workspace when you want to browse folders, open files, edit supported file types, or compare the result with other workspace files.

Open and review an output

  1. Open the Joule session that created the output.
  2. Find the output card in the conversation, or select Outputs to see the session's finished files.
  3. Select Open to open the file in Workspace.
  4. Review the file name, preview, and visible content before you use it.
  5. Check any numbers, claims, links, brand details, or source-dependent statements yourself before publishing or sharing the result.

Ampere supports previews for many common marketing output formats, including images, PDFs, Word-style documents, audio, video, spreadsheets, presentations, standalone HTML, Markdown, JSON, and text-like files. If a preview is still preparing, unavailable, too large, protected, empty, or unsupported, the original file can still be downloaded when available.

Edit a supported file

Some text-like files can be edited directly in Workspace Files. For example, Markdown and other editable text files can open with review controls, edit mode, save actions, and download actions in the same panel.

Workspace Files lets you review supported text outputs, edit them, save changes, and download the final file.

To make a direct edit:

  1. Open the file in Workspace Files.
  2. Select Edit when the file type supports inline editing.
  3. Make your changes.
  4. Select Save to keep the edited version, or Discard to leave the file unchanged.
  5. Select Done when you are finished reviewing the file.

Use direct editing for small copy changes, checklist updates, formatting tweaks, or quick corrections. For larger revisions, it is usually easier to ask Joule to revise the file.

Ask Joule to revise an output

When the output needs more than a small manual edit, send Joule a follow-up prompt that names the file and explains what should change.

Good follow-up prompts are specific:

  • "Revise help-center-demo-output.md so the checklist is written for a launch manager."
  • "Make the report shorter and keep only the top five takeaways."
  • "Update the deck with a stronger call to action and save a new version."
  • "Check the file for unsupported claims and rewrite any risky lines."

After Joule responds, open the updated file again and review the visible result. If the old and new versions both matter, download or rename the one you want to keep before continuing.

Download the final result

Use Download when you are ready to move one file out of Ampere. If a session has multiple outputs, open Outputs and use the download options there to collect the files you need.

Downloading or reviewing past outputs does not spend credits. Credits are used for Joule messages, AI Tool runs, browser sessions, and select background AI work, not for inspecting saved work.

What to check before you use it

Joule can produce useful finished work, but you stay in control of what ships. Before using an output outside Ampere, review:

  • Brand voice, tone, and visual fit.
  • Factual claims, numbers, dates, links, and citations.
  • Formatting in the target channel or file type.
  • Any private information you do not want to share.
  • Whether a newer version of the file exists in the same workspace.
