How much do I save with annual billing?

Annual billing gives you 1 month free: it charges 11 monthly payments and grants twelve monthly credit allowances up front. On the $200 plan, that works out to $183.33/month effective — 8.33% less than month-to-month, or $200 saved over a full year, with 480,000 credits available immediately.

When am I charged?

If you start with the 7-day intro, you're charged $7 today and your monthly plan begins 7 days later. Otherwise subscriptions are charged immediately at signup, then automatically at the start of each new billing period. One-time top-ups are charged when you confirm the purchase. Auto-recharges are charged whenever your balance crosses your trigger threshold, and never above your monthly cap.

Is there a free plan or free trial?

There's no free plan, but you don't have to commit to a full month to find out whether Ampere works for you. New Organizations start with a 7-day intro: $7 for 2,500 credits — roughly 400+ AI images, 150+ voiceovers, 100+ AI chat turns, or 15+ video clips — plus 1,500 free onboarding credits for Brand Context setup. You get full access to Ampere and the AI Tools catalog. When the 7 days are up, the monthly plan you picked begins, and you can stop it from Billing any time before then. One intro and one sponsored onboarding per Organization.

What is an Ampere credit?

Credits are the unit of usage for everything Ampere runs on your behalf — work with Ampere, run 200+ AI tools & skills, use browser sessions, and complete background AI work.

What uses credits?

Credits are spent when you actively use Ampere — running an AI Tool or Workflow, sending Ampere a message, starting a remote browser session, or for select background AI work. Browsing your dashboards, reviewing past runs, and managing settings does not consume credits.

Are credits per seat or shared across the organization?

Accepted Answer

Credits are shared across the entire organization. Every team member draws from the same balance, so you don't need to manage seat counts or split credits. Add as many teammates as you need and let them collaborate from one pool.

Are included credits or purchased credits used first?

Accepted Answer

Included credits (from your subscription) are always used first. Once they're exhausted, purchased credits (from top-ups or auto-recharge) take over. Within each balance, credits closest to expiring are used first, so nothing is wasted.

What happens if I run out of credits?

New AI runs pause until you buy more credits or your included credits refresh at the start of the next billing period. You'll keep full access to your history, settings, billing, and saved work — only new AI runs are paused. We'll show a low-balance warning before you run out so you can plan ahead.

How do one-time top-ups work?

Top-ups are one-time credit purchases you can make any time you have an active subscription. They start at 20,000 credits for $100 and scale up to 1,000,000 credits for $5,000. You can pick a quick amount or use the slider to choose any size in between. Credits land in your balance immediately after checkout and roll over while your subscription is active.

How does auto-recharge work?

Auto-recharge keeps your team running without interruption. You set three values: a balance threshold (when to trigger), a top-up amount (how much to buy), and a monthly cap (the maximum we'll spend per month). When your balance dips below the threshold, Ampere automatically tops up using your saved payment method — never above your monthly cap. You can change or disable it any time from the billing dashboard.

What protections prevent unexpected charges from auto-recharge?

Auto-recharge has multiple safeguards. You set a hard monthly spend cap (anywhere from $100 to $5,000); we never charge more than that in a single calendar month. Each trigger only fires once per balance episode, so a single low-balance moment can't cause repeated charges. Auto-recharge also pauses automatically if your monthly cap is reached, your subscription becomes inactive, or your saved payment method fails. And of course, you can turn it off entirely whenever you want.

Do unused credits roll over or expire?

Included credits (from your subscription) reset at the end of each billing period — any unused included credits don't carry over. Purchased credits (from top-ups or auto-recharge) roll over while your subscription is active and expire 12 months after their purchase date.

How do I cancel or change my plan?

Everything happens on the billing dashboard. During the 7-day intro you can change which monthly plan starts afterwards, or stop it from starting at all — either way you keep your intro credits and access through the full 7 days. On an active subscription the dashboard opens the secure Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel, change plan, update payment methods, or download invoices; cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you can reactivate any time before that date.

What happens when I upgrade or downgrade?

Switching from monthly to annual is immediate — you're charged the annual amount on the spot, gain the new credit allowance, and your renewal moves to one year out. Switching from annual to monthly is scheduled to take effect at the end of your current annual term, with no mid-cycle refund. All plan changes happen through the billing portal.

What happens to my credits if I cancel?

Included credits expire at the end of your current billing period as usual. Purchased credits aren't deleted — they're locked while you don't have an active subscription. If you reactivate later, your purchased balance becomes usable again, subject to the standard 12-month expiry from each credit's purchase date.

Who can manage billing in my organization?

Accepted Answer

By default, only the organization owner can manage billing — buying top-ups, configuring auto-recharge, changing plans, or canceling. Owners can grant billing-admin access to specific teammates from the billing dashboard, so finance or operations teammates can manage spend without needing full owner privileges.

Do you offer refunds?

Subscription fees and the included credits that come with them are non-refundable. For purchased credits, please contact support@ampere.app — we'll review on a case-by-case basis. If a charge is refunded by the payment provider or disputed by your bank, we automatically reconcile the affected credits with your account.
