Which AI Tools can be scheduled
Understand when the Schedule option appears for an AI Tool and what to do when it is missing.
Last verified 15 days ago
The Schedule option appears on AI Tool and workflow run forms that support saved recurring runs. This article focuses on deciding whether a catalog AI Tool or workflow can be scheduled. Saved prompt tasks use a separate creation flow.
If you do not see Schedule, the current item, form state, or Workspace may not support scheduling from that page.
Where scheduling appears
Open an AI Tool or workflow from the catalog and use its Playground run form. When recurring scheduling is available for that item, the form shows Schedule near Run Tool or Run Workflow.
Fill in the required inputs first. Ampere validates the saved input before it creates a scheduled task, so incomplete or invalid fields must be corrected before the schedule can be saved.
Catalog agents use a different chat interface and are not part of this AI Tool and workflow scheduling lane.
What makes an AI Tool schedulable
A schedulable catalog item can rerun from saved input data. The task keeps the selected AI Tool or workflow, its input values, schedule timing, timezone, and lifecycle controls such as an optional maximum run count.
The current catalog scheduling flow supports hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly schedules. The timing controls use the scheduling precision shown in the app.
There is no permanent public list of every schedulable AI Tool. Catalog support can change as Ampere adds or updates tools and workflows. The Schedule action on the current run form is the reliable availability signal.
Why the Schedule option may be missing
The Schedule option may be unavailable when:
- The AI Tool or workflow does not support saved recurring runs.
- Required inputs are incomplete or invalid.
- You are viewing a page other than the item's Playground run form.
- Billing or entitlement state prevents new billable work.
- Scheduling is not available for that item or Workspace from the current page.
Open the item's Playground, complete the required fields, and check the form again. If Schedule still does not appear, use the AI Tool manually or choose another catalog item that shows the action.
AI Tool schedules and prompt tasks are separate
Both kinds of work appear in Scheduled Tasks, but they save different instructions:
| Scheduled AI Tool or workflow | Scheduled prompt task |
|---|---|
| Reruns one supported catalog item from saved form inputs. | Reruns a saved prompt through Ampere. |
| Starts from the catalog item's Playground when Schedule is available. | Starts from the Scheduled Tasks dashboard or a reviewable Ampere proposal. |
| Saves the catalog item and its structured input values. | Can save a project, prompt, attachments, and settings for how Ampere runs it. |
Creating a prompt task does not add Schedule to an AI Tool that does not support catalog scheduling. Use the Ampere lane when the recurring job needs a prompt-led, multi-step marketing workflow instead of the same catalog form input each time.
Where to manage scheduled work
After creating a scheduled AI Tool or workflow run, use that item's Scheduled tab to view its tasks. Use the organization-wide Scheduled Tasks dashboard when you want to review catalog schedules and prompt tasks together, including their timing, status, run history, and available management actions.
