GuideReviewed
LinkedIn posts only accept plain text. Bold and italic "fonts" are really different Unicode characters that look like styled letters, so they survive copy and paste into the post box.
That trick has costs. Screen readers often read styled letters one at a time or skip them, LinkedIn search doesn't match them to normal words, and they can count as two characters toward the limit. Use them for a few words, never whole paragraphs.
Most readers decide from the text above "…see more". LinkedIn doesn't publish where that cut falls, and it moves with the device and the app version. The commonly observed cut is about 140 characters on mobile and about 210 on desktop, and the feed also folds after roughly three lines.
Short paragraphs, one idea each, read better in a feed than dense blocks. Bullets help when you list steps or results. Bold one phrase per section at most, so the emphasis still means something.
What people ask before they use the LinkedIn post formatter.
LinkedIn has no formatting buttons for posts. Type your post in this formatter, select the words, choose Bold, then copy the result into LinkedIn. The styled characters paste in as they appear.

Readers see about 3 lines before “see more” on a phone. Make that part count. The fold is an estimate; LinkedIn doesn’t publish an exact rule.
