Sonnet 5 and Opus 4.8 now offer two higher effort levels, Ampere finishes multi-step work faster by running several lookups at once, and LinkedIn carousels and image posts can match the look your followers already know.

What's new

Extra high and Max effort for Sonnet and Opus

  • Two more effort levels. Sonnet 5 and Opus 4.8 now offer Extra high and Max after Low, Medium, and High. Extra high gives Ampere more thinking time than High, and Max gives it the most. Both reply more slowly and use more credits.
  • In sessions and scheduled tasks. Choose them when you start a session or while you work in one, and when you create or edit a scheduled task. Monitoring keeps Low, Medium, and High.

Clearer answers when a model declines a request

  • If the model declines a request, Ampere now says so plainly, removes any partial answer, and suggests rephrasing or starting a new session. You're never charged for the declined attempt.

Faster multi-step work

  • When Ampere needs several quick lookups at once, such as reading a few images, searching Brand memory, or creating links to several files, it now runs them together instead of one at a time. In our tests, ten of these steps finished in about 7 seconds instead of 27 to 30.

Carousels and image posts in your LinkedIn look

  • Matches what your followers see. Many companies post on LinkedIn in a look that differs from their website. Ampere now reads your company's recent LinkedIn posts, and when they share a look that differs from your website, it offers Your LinkedIn look as the visual style for a carousel or image post.
  • Built from your posts. Choose it, and Ampere uses your recent posts as its style guide, matching their colors and headline type.
  • On paid plans and the Free Plan. The Free Plan's carousel and image post tasks offer it too.

Smaller fixes

  • Uploaded files in a Project no longer show an Off switch or an expiry date. Ampere uses an uploaded file in every session of its Project until you delete it, so those settings changed nothing.
  • Lost Workspaces come back when you open them. If a session's Workspace was lost, choosing Open Workspace or changing a file in it now restores it, which can take a minute or two. Before, you had to send a message first.
  • Plain-language notices now explain what happened, and what to do next, when a response can't be saved, restored, or stopped.

Why it matters

Strategy questions, long research briefs, and launch plans can benefit from more thinking time. Now you can choose it when the work deserves it and keep Medium for everyday tasks. Faster lookups shorten the wait on work that reads many images or searches Brand memory several times, such as LinkedIn posts. Posts in your LinkedIn look fit in with what your followers already recognize, so they read as yours at a glance.

Where to find it

  • Effort: On Home or in a session's composer, open the menu that shows your model and effort, choose Sonnet 5 or Opus 4.8, then pick Extra high or Max under Effort. For a scheduled task, choose the effort when you create or edit it in Scheduled tasks.
  • Your LinkedIn look: Ask Ampere for a LinkedIn carousel or image post for a company with a LinkedIn page. When its feed has a look of its own, Ampere offers Your LinkedIn look when you choose the visual style.
  • New sessions: The new effort levels, clearer answers when a model declines, faster lookups, and your LinkedIn look come with sessions you start after this update. Sessions started earlier keep working as before.
