Overview

Minimax Image-01 turns a written prompt into one to nine generated images. Use it for campaign concepts, ad or social visuals, product-storytelling art, thumbnails, and layout exploration when you want text-to-image generation with aspect-ratio presets, custom dimensions, optional prompt optimization, and seed controls.

Use cases

  • Generate image options for ad concepts or social posts from a concise brief.
  • Draft visual directions for landing pages, article headers, or campaign mood boards.
  • Produce several variations from one prompt before choosing a final direction.
  • Use custom dimensions when a generated image needs to match a specific layout.

Input tips

  • Keep the prompt under 1,500 characters and include subject, setting, style, composition, and intended use.
  • Choose an aspect ratio such as 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, 3:2, 2:3, 3:4, 9:16, or 21:9.
  • Provide both width and height for custom dimensions; each must be 512-2048 pixels and divisible by 8.
  • Set num_images from 1-9 when you want multiple options.
  • Use seed for repeatable exploration and prompt_optimizer when you want automatic prompt refinement.

Expected output

The AI Tool returns generated image URLs, optional seed, success count, failed count, and cost metadata. The Minimax output view renders a single image or gallery and shows seed when present, image count, failed count when nonzero, and the Minimax Image-01 model label. Image records are URL-only and do not include dimension or file metadata.

Caveats

  • Prompt wording strongly affects output quality and what appears in the image.
  • Custom width and height must both be provided, divisible by 8, and between 512 and 2048 pixels.
  • When width and height are provided, they override the selected aspect ratio.
  • Prompt optimization can shift emphasis from the original wording.
  • Generated text, logos, product details, faces, and image edges should be reviewed before use.
